NYLESA Connect organized a visit to St. Bart's on Park Avenue for the Eurasia Consort Midtown East concert featuring musical instruments of the Silk Route. The Eurasia Consort ensemble is led by Tomoko Sugawara, who played the Kugo or the mother of all harps, Rex Benincasa, the percussion instrument, Yimin Miao enthralled us with the dizi or the bamboo flute and August Denhard, the lute. The music featured was from the Late Tang Dynasty of the 9th - 10th century from the Dunhuang Lute music manuscripts.
